Welcome to the Wavertree Cricket Club 150th anniversary website. The year 2004 saw Wavertree Cricket Club celebrate its 150th anniversary season.
The club was successful in obtaining a grant from the National Lottery Local Heritage Initiative Fund to underwrite a number of activities to mark this significant year in the history of the club. One of these was for the club to research, write and publish a book that would help it celebrate the first 150 years of cricket in the 'village'.
The book, a limited edition of 500 copies, was published in 2006 and actually covers 151 years of the club's history, hence the title: "Wavertree Cricket Club - 151 years of cricket, a written and pictorial history".
This website will enable you to access and download each section and chapter of the book along with the gallery of images. The site also provides links to other relevant websites linked to Wavertree Cricket Club.
You can obtain a copy of the book, as long as there are copies available, from the club or directly from the Project Coordinator Dave Goodall.
